let it rain
as i sit and type, i'm lulled to relaxation by the sound of the tv in the background and rain on the rooftop. the tv reminds me that the hour grows late, and the rain reminds me of my childhood. sometimes funny things pop into my head and run around in there, and i can't shake them until i've released them into the wild. sometimes these funny things are funnier if they're about my family. sometimes they're true; usually they're not. and sometimes they're only funny to me (recent samplings: the world is flat, ramble on).
I can specifically remember being cooped inside a house in cleveland on a rainy saturday afternoon, because dad wouldn't let me play outside in the april showers. frustrated, i asked him why it had to rain. without even turning around, dad explained that it was raining because God was sad. the raindrops were his tears, he said. after a moment in pensive silence, i asked him, "why is God crying?" "i don't know," he replied, "but it's probably because of something you did." ahhh, memories... :)

Your back! awesome :) I hope that Cindy didn't wreak to much havoc in GA...NOLA got drenched.
and the rain pours on..and on-cindy to Dennis. speaking of childhood memories and the rain, ...i remember getting out in the rain, barefoot...lettin the mud squish between my toes! talk about good times. i remember how for a moment, life was just about feeling the beauty of the world...like a little dance with God...
yesterday, taking my dog, Diva, for a walk in the rain, it felt the same way, so amazingly lush and fabulous. I was alone, but did not feel that way.
What struck me was that God is the most romantic, intelligent, and sweetest artist ever!...Thank you God! for the rain...and the wild thing is...there are alot of people who have had a recent experience lately...Hmmmm?
