pedestrians and taxis

have i mentioned that i have an incredible job? and as incredible as the job is, the office environment is even more so. i'm the in office (at the church) about 12-15 hrs a week (i guess you can add the time i spend at and preparing for practice, and 4 hours on sundays as well). and for those who have asked with that bewildered look, "what do you do all week?!" i spend another 30+ hours in local establishments catering caffeine in one form or another. there's a coffeeshop nearby with free wi-fi; i find that to be the most productive environment for me. put me in a room with windows and the sun shining in, splash a little color on the walls and play a little satchmo or big band or matchbox 20 in the background, and you'll inspire me to a great work.
- covalli gals, if you ever get wi-fi, i will literally be there from open
til closing time. -
this week i'm on the new york circuit, touring coffeeshops around manhattan that were clever enough to boast their free wi-fi on a web page listing such places for the benefit of coffee & internet-junkies the world over. i'm basically doing the same thing i do in the coffeeshops around metro atlanta, but the scenery is better. my window office overlooks pedestrians and taxis on 42nd street. and as they hurry along their way, i sit and watch and ponder the meaning of life. suddenly a song with a bluegrass twang comes on in the background, and i find the influence of my two years in georgia causing me to tap my foot a little too aggressively for my own good. self-conscious, i stop tapping and lean in to the laptop and begin typing again.

Dude!
What a job! But I guess someone's gotta do it, right?

Be careful out there!
